Who is responsible for my safety?
Its the age old question .Who is responsible for making sure I do the right things to keep myself safe.There are two parts to this seemingly easy question.The first is that it is ourselves that must make every effort to take responsibility for our own actions.The second part is that our team mates/fellow workers and employees have a shared responsibility to facilitate and help keep both themselves and ourselves alert to the potential hazards and risks.There is no absolute line as to what this means, but in the Western Australian 'general duty of care' descriptions contained in the 1984 'Occupational Safety and Health Act'help illuminate the shared responsibilities. http://www.safetyline.wa.gov.au/pagebin/pg000060.htm
