Understandable safety management systems

Its important to remember that in any management strategy there needs to be an internal logic and way of understanding what safety means to a company or organisation. This is easier said than done.Having a clear ,simple and comprehensible safety management system that can be maintained in all circumstances and gives clear vision and feedback messages about what and where an organisation can improve with its workers & its obligations of duty of care is important. It is an ongoing conundrum as to why businesses seem to not like integrating and coming to grips with this very basic and yet powerful understanding.Making a simple yet sustainable safety management system that generates innovation and safe circumstances is as beneficial to a business as any insurance policy. In some ways the safety management system says a lot about the way we envision the process of making money and doing business overall.Hence the question of sustainability.

Why is it important to have a clear and understandable system ?Its sounds obvious. And yet how many safety management systems lack proper, feedback ,improvement, innovation and consistent policy to many community, environment and worker health issues.
