Asbestos report from NZ released
"New Zealand Asbestos Exposure Report
The NZ Department of Labour (DOL) has released a report into
occupationally-induced asbestos exposure in that country from 1992 to 2005. The
asbestos report shows the number of people registering was continuing to rise,
but that the occupation of sufferers was changing. More than 17,000 people had
advised the Department since 1992 they may have been exposed to asbestos.
Carpenters, plumbers and electricians were collectively responsible for almost
66 percent of the asbestos cases reported in the past 13 years.
