Time out,times up!?
TCC GROUP 'ONSITE SAFE'
With increasing pressure to perform how do workers work hard without overworking or burn out. What reasonable ways can workers assert there need for rest and reasonable expectations of effort, whilst at times having to do overtime to complete projects on tight schedules. What impact does working long hours have on the health and safety of employees?Productivity?
Though for many of us in this industry working long hours is a fact of life and to adegree we ae rumunerated for it...we need to bear in mind the overall longer vterm costs of our own actions to get ahead and when we have moved from helping the team out to pure selfish ignorance offour family and partners needs other than financial.sure looking after this aspect these days is important for mortgage and the planning of retirement etc....BUT what are we creating and woirking towards...what better situations are we creating now ...not just in the future? Are you enjoying your work nd passing on the benefits of feeling like you are getting somewhere is is it just a daily grinding and type of unfulfilling slavery that is gradually eating you away.take action and dont let life slip away for you and your family.plan where you want to go ...even if it isnt the greatest situation you are in ...build on the realities.
A word to planners of schedules.
When jobs require large amounts of extra effort and overtime at sustained levels what is the cause of such calculations and need for such long hours...bad planning, lack of innovation.Often the whole cost of having workers work extra ordinary long hours is seen s just run of the mill and the macho thing to do...is it costly...Yes...that is on safety and other productivity impacts.many times this is not revealed immediately.Bad planning/work practices though, eventually reveal them selves athe causes in the longer term with increased first aid illness, time of and other forms of absenteeism as wellas rdos and holdays which are taken to recover from arduous schedules.
